Rustam is an artist. He lives in a small house with a wide window, and he paints pictures on stone. People say he is rich, but he is not. "I save my money for paint," he says. He has no television, and he cannot drive.
One day, Aziz and Dilya visit him. "It is great that you came," says Rustam. "Stand here and look at my new stone." It has a picture of a cat. "How much does it cost?" asks Aziz. "Ten thousand," says Rustam. "But for friends it is free."
That evening Rustam makes dinner for his friends. Suddenly a real cat jumps through the window and sits on the table. "That is the cat from your stone!" laughs Dilya. Rustam puts the stone in a bag for her. "A gift," he says. "I am rich in friends."
Rustam rassom. U keng derazali kichkina uyda yashaydi va toshga rasm chizadi. Odamlar uni boy deydi, lekin u boy emas. «Pulimni bo'yoq uchun yig'aman», deydi u. Uning televizori yo'q, mashina ham haydashni bilmaydi.
Bir kuni Aziz bilan Dilya uning oldiga boradi. «Kelganlaringiz ajoyib bo'ldi», deydi Rustam. «Mana bu yerda turib, yangi toshimga qarang». Unda mushuk rasmi bor. «Bu qancha turadi?» deb so'raydi Aziz. «O'n ming», deydi Rustam. «Lekin do'stlarga bepul».
O'sha oqshom Rustam do'stlariga kechki ovqat tayyorlaydi. To'satdan haqiqiy mushuk deraza orqali sakrab kirib, stolga o'tiradi. «Bu sizning toshingizdagi mushuk!» deb kuladi Dilya. Rustam toshni unga sumkaga solib beradi. «Sovg'a», deydi u. «Men do'stlarga boyman».
